The Caps at the Top Do the Hardest Job
The ridge caps run along the very top and hips of the roof, sealing the join where two roof faces meet. They're the most exposed tiles on the whole roof, and when the bedding and pointing holding them down let go, they crack, work loose and can be lifted clean off in a strong Peninsula wind.
